We are proud to have them leading the way and look forward to an amazing season ahead!

Taylor Polk: Head Coach & Team Director
Taylor brings over 17 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for gymnastics to his role as Head Coach and Team Director. A former competitive gymnast at Piney Woods Gymnastics in East Texas, Taylor competed through Level 9 before beginning his coaching career at Texas East Gymnastics.
He later moved to Central Texas to attend Texas State University, where he continued coaching, including time spent at Olympia Hills Gymnastics. Last year, he returned to OHG to coach his oldest daughter’s pre-team and has remained an integral part of the program ever since. Taylor is dedicated to building strong athletes through structure, accountability, mentorship, and quality gymnastics instruction. His leadership style focuses not only on athletic growth but also on helping athletes develop confidence, discipline, and character.
In addition to his gymnastics background, Taylor holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Applied Geography. He currently serves as an instructor in the Criminal Justice Department at Texas State University.

Amberly Schlanger: Xcel Program Director
Amberly has a strong background in both competitive gymnastics and coaching, bringing enthusiasm and dedication to her role as Xcel Program Director. After competing in gymnastics for 10 years, Amberly began coaching part-time while attending college and quickly discovered her passion for helping athletes grow and succeed. Following her graduation in 2024 with a degree in Psychology, she chose to continue pursuing coaching full-time.
Throughout her time at Olympia Hills Gymnastics, Amberly has worked with a wide range of athletes, coaching compulsory, optional, and all Xcel levels. Her experience across multiple programs has given her a well-rounded coaching perspective, but she especially enjoys the Xcel program and the unique opportunities it provides for athletes to develop confidence, skills, and a love for the sport.
Amberly is excited to lead the Xcel program and looks forward to an incredible upcoming season with her athletes and families.
